Our Founder, our Work
Welco Lumber was founded in 1972 as a wholesale lumberyard and reload center specializing in cedar, long length dimensional Doug Fir and manufactured cedar products.
Welco Lumber was founded in 1972 by the late W.E. (Bill) Uveges. Bill was a well-known and widely respected lumberman with over 60 years in the business. Bill most enjoyed handcrafting cedar timber brackets in Welco’s woodshop; we still use the same patterns that Bill created decades ago.
Welco Lumber features a line of manufactured cedar products known as Bill’s Best. Our Bill’s Best products include cedar timber brackets, corbels, porch kits, pergolas and custom storage buildings. Browse our online catalog of various styles of timber brackets and decorative corbels, or we can fabricate items per your blueprints.
Our porch kits are designed to cover any 3’ door. They include two cedar timber brackets that support the porch roof. A timber valance echoing the style of the porch kit joins the two brackets. Also in the kit are 8 6/12 pitch decorative cedar rafters and tongue-and-groove 2×6 ceiling boards. The porch roof is 6’ wide including one foot overhangs and is 3’ 4” deep. At this time we have two different styles available and, as always, we are able to fabricate a porch roof per your requirements.
These impressive handcrafted porch roofs bring almost instant style and class to any 3’ door. These unique porch kits can dramatically improve the appearance and curb appeal of your home, business or stable. This is one home improvement that will add value and sophisticated charm to your building. Average installation time is approximately three hours. Kits do not include roofing material or fasteners and come unfinished.
